The common cold

Unfortunately all of us have experienced some type of flu during our lives. Some cases worse than others, but eventually we all fight through it.

We are at the end of winter in South Africa, but strange as it may be most of us get sick during this time. Each person has their own concoction of drugs and vitamins they take to alleviate signs and symptoms of flu. People will always try and convert you to their concoctions of choice, but the fact of the matter is we should start by preventing flu rather than curing it.

For the past few years I became so confused about what to take to prevent flu, as soon as you find something, you read somewhere else that it’s either not true or there are better things to use. I believe it all comes back to a healthy lifestyle. All medication and vaccines have some sort of destructive property either short- or long term. In the end natural healing is the cheapest, easiest and healthiest way to go.

As we all know Vitamin C is at the top of the list of flu preventing foods, this does not mean only oranges though. The top 10 fruit and vegetables containing vitamin C are red and green hot chillies, guavas, bell peppers, fresh herbs for example thyme and parsley, broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, kiwi, papaya, oranges and strawberries. Other foods include mushrooms, garlic and honey. Drinking black tea will also help you fight flu. Exercising for 30-60 minutes daily will help you build your immune system as exercising improves blood circulation in the body. Getting enough sleep will also help. When you are tired your immune system drops due to your body needing to work harder to supply extra energy to the brain and vital organs. Washing your hands regularly will reduce your chances of getting sick. When you are on the move you may touch up to 300 dirty surfaces in half an hour, during a 24 hour period we can touch our face 2-3 thousand times. Keeping our hands clean and touching your face less is essential for staying healthy and germ free.

Ozone therapy will also enhance your chances of preventing flu. Ozone is anti-bacterial and will neutralize toxins and impurities in the blood, causing flu as well as numerous other diseases for example sores, warts, angina, heart problems, diabetes, cellulite, poor blood circulation, headaches, epilepsy, allergies and memory loss to name a few. When you have slipped up and you have flu, ozone therapy will help boost your immune system, clean your lungs, remove toxins, combat fatigue, improve sleep and improve mineral absorption during digestion shortening recovering time.

What will you do to prevent flu?
