There is not a person on this planet that will not experience pain multiple times during their lifetime.  As wreck less children, we scrape our knees, bump our heads, break a bone or two and who can forget those awful growing pains. As we get older these types of child-like pain reduce and takes a more adult form. Adult pain commonly consist of stress-headaches, leg or arm pain due to lack of exercise and back pain due to stress & sitting at your desk all day. There are however pains that are abnormal. Chronic pain is defined as a pain that lasts for more than 12 weeks. This type of pain can be mild or excruciating, continuous or episodic, or incapacitating or inconvenient. Chronic pain usually originates from an initial trauma, surgery or infection. Chronic pain includes:

  • Headaches
  • Joint pain
  • Pain from injury
  • Back pain
  • Tendinitis
  • Sinus pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Pain affecting specific parts of the body eg; shoulders, pelvis and neck.

To optimize your health, make sure you exercise for at least 30 minutes 3 times per week. Eat healthy food and keep away from take-aways, snacks and other junk food. Drink enough water. The best thing to do when you have been experiencing pain on a regular basis for about 1-2 months is to consult with your GP immediately.
